Kyle Paulson calls Turn A
for Tim Bigley
March 31, 2007
They ran an F3F race near my home slope and I wanted to check it out. So I brought my little Canon Rebel down to the slope and started snapping away. Then the video camera came out and I slapped together a quick piece featuring Dave Reese, Tim Bigley, and Kyle Paulson. My apologies to the other pilots, but these were the only runs I managed to capture in their entirety. There wasn't much air on this day, and what there was had more texture than we normally get at the coast, but the ISR International MoM is coming to Davenport soon so this was certainly a good chance for some guys to get their planes tuned and prepped for the carnag....I mean, competition.

Greg Smith's new
4-DVD EPP Clinic
Greg Smith, purveyor of the excellent SlopeFlyer.com website, has produced a magnificent set of instructional DVDs on the building of EPP models. With Jack Cooper of Leading Edge Gliders as your host, your are escorted through the adventure of assembly, taping, covering, painting even weathering and test flying!
The video focuses on the building of an LEG 60" warbird, but the tips, tricks, and techniques described will be helpful to anyone trying their hand at an EPP build, including the JART-EPP. Tons of good info in here and very well produced.
(As usual, JARTWORLD makes no money from the sale of these DVDs. Dang, we've GOT to do something about that. Who's in charge of marketing around here!?)

March 13, 2007
Paul Naton is known best for his remarkable set of soaring and electric flight videos. Not everyone knows that he was also a big part of the high-caliber slope racing scene that developed around Torrey Pines, California in the late 1980s and early 90s. In this interview we discuss how to improve as a pilot, the future of soaring design, what makes for a good soaring video, and who reads Aufwind...
